Sikorsky Picks Rockwell Collins to Deliver Avionics for USAF Combat Rescue Helicopters

Sikorsky Aircraft has recently selected Rockwell Collins for the United States Air Force Combat Rescue Helicopter program. Rockwell Collins will be expected to supply mission equipment and state of the art avionics to the upcoming generation of combat rescue helicopters; this will include the navigation radios, the cockpit flight and mission display system, as well as the advanced ARC-210 V/UHF communication system.

The integrated cockpit flight and mission display system offered by Rockwell Collins provides the highest-caliber situational awareness, consequently reducing the pilot’s workload for the CRH mission. The Air Force has been able to affordably execute mission enhancements by leveraging 15 years of open systems leadership based on combat proven technologies being fielded on the United States Army’s Black Hawk Helicopters currently. The HH-60W is equipped with multi-functional cockpit displays which are fully compliant with the most recent night vision imaging system (NVIS) standards. The aircraft has the capabilities for superior optical performance, a wide operating temperature range, and exceptional cross-cockpit viewing with a broad viewing angle.

In June of 2014, Sikorsky Aircraft Products was awarded the CRH Engineering and Manufacturing Development contract in order to provide four helicopters, seven training systems, as well as initial product support.
