Based in Costa Mesa, California, Ecliptek Corporation is a leading designer of crystals and oscillators for the frequency control market. Established in 1987, Ecliptek is ISO 9001:2008 certified to produce quartz crystal products for electronic applications. Ecliptek’s wide range of products includes crystal oscillators, microelectromechanical system (MEMS) oscillators, quartz crystals and crystal resonators. As of today, Ecliptek’s inventory holds over 2 million part numbers. Incorporated into a single package, an Ecliptek crystal oscillator comprises of a resonator made of quartz crystal and an oscillator sustaining circuit. This unit produces an output waveform at customizable frequencies. An Ecliptek MEMs oscillator is integrated with miniaturized electromechanical components like MEMS resonators and temperature sensors. Ecliptek crystals operate by vibrating either on its preset mode or on its overtone mode. Overtone modes occur at odd frequency harmonics.
The Ecliptek quartz crystal unit comprises of a resonator plate integrated with electrodes and an airtight, sealed exterior that is easily mountable. Composed of silicon and oxygen (SiO2) molecules, synthetic quartz crystals are tempered in highly-pressurized autoclaves. The hexagonal mono-crystals of a synthetic quartz crystal display piezoelectric (electric charges occur when mechanical stress is applied) traits and are used to stabilize an oscillator circuit’s frequency. Synthetic crystals are grown through hydrothermal synthesis—a man-made manufacturing method involving high temperatures and high pressures. Recently, Ecliptek improved its extended temperature range of crystals with the 2014 introduction of the EA2532 series. Engineered for extreme environments ranging from below negative 40 degrees Celsius to over 125 degrees Celsius, the EA2532 operates up to 48.000MHZ. Via our proprietary website AFR Enterprises, is a leading supplier of Ecliptek products. Prospective customers can explore our expansive catalogue of hard-to-find obsolete and current Ecliptek parts—ranging from oscillators to integrated circuits to semiconductors and more—at www.afrenterprises.com. Cessna Aircraft Company, a US-based general aviation corporation, has reached a milestone in its business due to the major success of its business jet program. The two new business aircraft that Cessna has introduced as part of its light jet family, along with 6 other aircraft, is a major production success that is expected to re-energize its business and corporate jet business. The first of these two aircraft, The Citation Latitude, is a superlight, 2,500nm range aircraft that has recently begun full-assembly line production. It boasts such new technological features such as automated robotics and ergonomically-friendly tooling stations. The Citation M2, a 1,580nm range twinjet aircraft of the same family, has already gained European approval.
The popularity of these business aircraft are reflected in the backlog of Cessna orders, with 27 Latitudes and 10 M2s on backorder Cessna, a general aviation manufacturing company founded in 1927, operates as a subsidiary of the aerospace conglomerate Textron Aviation, which reports $4.6 billion in annual revenue and includes the brands of Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker. Cessna’s subsidiary is McCauley Propeller Systems, which is a well-known manufacturer of composite propellers. Cessna, which employs 8,500 people, is most well-known for its small, piston-powered aircraft. It’s current models in production are the Cessna 172, 182, 206, 208, 400, 510, 525, 560XL, 680, and 750.
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk in particular, a four-seat, single engine, high wing, fixed-wing aircraft, is one of the most successful aircraft ever produced in the world. Ever since its maiden flight in 1955, Cessna has produced more 172s than any other aircraft, with over 60,000 built. Demorest Manufacturing Company was founded over 80 years ago in 1845 and started out by manufacturing sewing machines and selling paper patterns for dress making. The name of the company was later changed in 1907 to Lycoming Foundry and Machine Company, after it was sold to Gerrit S. Scofield and Frank M. Scofield. Gerrit and Frank went on to construct a factory in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, also known as Lycoming County, which is how the company acquired its name. They changed their focus to the automobile industry, primarily in engine manufacturing. In the 1930s they then shifted gears to high power aircraft engines. Fast forward to today, they are a huge manufacturer and distributor of powerful engines in the aviation industry, after becoming a part of Honeywell Aerospace in 1999. Lycoming has manufactured over 300,000 piston engines since their inception. Read more >>
