BAE Systems Contracted to Support Battlespace Command and Control Center

In the first quarter of 2015, BAE Systems was awarded a contract to provide critical readiness support to US Army Space & Missile Defense Command. The initial contract value is USD$11.8 million. Under the Concepts and Operations for Space and Missile Defense Integration Capabilities (COSMIC) contract which covers indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, support from BAE will last for two years. Total value of the contract will reach USD$23 million. The contract has been held by BAE Systems since its inception in 2006.

The contract stipulates that BAE will provide hardware, software and system integration support for the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3). BAE systems will be responsible for upgrading the mobile training suites and provide systems and network administration support to the Non-Organic Radar Access program. Intelligence and security services to manage big data and big missions will also be provided. The goal is to minimize downtime for critical systems and enhance the ability of warfighters to analyze and manage the continuously increasing amounts of data. As a result, the time for processing information and providing critical decision making will be shortened. The entire range of support that BAE is responsible for under this contract includes future concept development, command, control, communications and computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system integration. In addition, BAE will be directly responsible for the development of strategic direction, war-game planning and execution, as well as concept development and refinement, experiment planning and execution, new technology research and system production. Lastly, demonstration and deployment will also be provided by BAE.
