US DoD Renews Identity Verification Contract with Safran’s MorphoTrust

Safran’s MorphoTrust USA has announced that it has been rewarded a $3.5 million contract from the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide identity verification solutions. The DoD will utilize MorphoTrust’s pioneering biometrics expertise to achieve its mission of defending the United States by confirming the identities of individuals during instances critical to national security.

For the third year in a row, the DoD has renewed its contract for MorphoTrust’s ABIS (automated biometric identification system). The ABIS system provides users with a software platform with the ability to search, process, compare, and manage identity data of enrolled individuals. ABIS facilitates the DoD’s stringent security measures by enrolling biometric images including face, finger, palm, and iris for use in near-instantaneous one-to-one and one-to-many identity checks. Essentially, ABIS coincides with the DoD’s record keeping, identity verification, identity management and deduplication goals.
