B&K Precision was a company that was formed in the garage at 1948, back when televisions were a new invention. It was founded by entrepreneur Carl Korn and Philip Ban, who who founded their business on the premise of creating more reliable television sets. B&K Precision engineers earned several patents in television test equipment. In 1961, the company was placed under an umbrella corporation, Dynascan, which was composed of a number of electronic companies. A new product line was launched in 1996 under new ownership, subsequently followed by the move of its headquarters to southern California, allowing easier access to business in Asia. In addition, the company expanded its operations to Europe in 2004. The company now conducts business in North America, Europe, and Asia. Their North American headquarters is in Yorba Linda, California, where most of the executive functions like R&D, customer service, repair, and sales and marketing are located. In Europe, it is known under the Sefram subsidiary, with headquarters in France. In Asia, it is known as ITECH Lodestar, and B+K Precision Taiwan.
