Lockheed Martin Tests New Maritime Test Bed
The American aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin has tested their new Maritime Test Bed for the US Navy. This testing was an attempt for Lockheed Martin to display its abilities to help address command, control, communications, computers, and Intelligence capability gaps. The areas in question were defined in the Acquisition Gaps for Science and Technology as provided by the Program Executive Office C4I for the Navy which also includes advanced detecting, data incorporation, decision support, electromagnetic support processes, improved targeting, fire control, and non-kinetic fires. In addition, the test bed allows the Navy to comprehend on how Lockheed Martin’s aerospace product can increase the arrangement of a range of sensor intelligence abilities in the nautical and united war fighting situations.
The test bed works by using data fusion, workflow automation, and electromagnetic visualization tools which allows the system to consume numerous kinds of simulated radar, communications, and signals intelligence. Once the data is gathered, the test bed then shows the developing tactical situation. By imitating sea and onto land naval situations, the test bed successfully accelerated the full intelligence sequence. A kinetic or non-kinetic response is then determined as the test bed starts from the preliminary intercept of the signals to the distribution of a fused tactical depiction across several naval platforms. From there, the test bed then leads to combat identification which can be used directly by combat systems.
